Nusselt Number from the Reynolds Number

Description

The function estimates the Nusselt number from the Reynolds number for various taxa using Mitchell (1976) (Table 1: Convective Heat Transfer Relations for Animal Shapes).

Usage

Nusselt_from_Reynolds(Re, taxon = "cylinder")

Arguments

Re

numeric Reynolds Number (dimensionless).

taxon

character which class of organism. Current choices: "sphere", "cylinder", "frog", "lizard_traverse_to_air_flow", "lizard_parallel_to_air_flow", "lizard_surface", "lizard_elevated", "flyinginsect", "spider".

Value

numeric Nusselt number (dimensionless).
